Napoli Star Suffers Injury During Penalty Kick
Kevin de Bruyne is facing a significant period on the sidelines after injuring his thigh while scoring a penalty for Napoli against Inter Milan.
The 34-year-old midfielder opened the scoring in the 33rd minute of Saturday’s match. He immediately clutched his right thigh and was substituted shortly after. De Bruyne was later taken to the hospital, where scans revealed a high-grade tear.
Napoli, who secured a 3-1 victory to reclaim the top spot in Serie A, have not specified a return timeline for the Belgian playmaker.
De Bruyne joined Napoli on a free transfer from Manchester City in June. He has since scored four goals in eight league appearances and made three more appearances in the Champions League.
