Where to watch Champions League online in the US

Start with the rights, because everything else follows from them. CBS Sports holds the exclusive English-language US rights to the Champions League through the 2029-30 season. In practice that splits the competition into two routes for American viewers.

Every single match streams on Paramount+, the rights holder’s own subscription service — that is the only place to find all eight matchdays end to end, including the games nobody puts on television. A smaller selection is assigned each week to CBS Sports’ TV platforms: the main CBS network for marquee fixtures, plus CBS Sports Network and the CBS Sports Golazo Network. Which match gets which slot changes every matchday, so a general rights announcement never tells you where tonight’s game is — the weekly assignment does.

That is where a live-TV bundle earns its place. FuboTV is a streaming service that gathers dozens of leading US sports, news and entertainment channels into one subscription — and among them are CBS Sports Network and, in most markets, your local CBS station. Those are the two English-language TV homes for the Champions League games that do get a linear slot, which in a typical week means the headline fixture and a handful of others. Be straight with yourself about the trade-off: Fubo gives you those matches inside a full channel line-up you will also use for the NFL, college football, MLS and everything else, with no cable box, no installer and no long-term contract. It does not give you the Paramount+ streaming exclusives, and CBS Sports Network is not part of a Paramount+ subscription either — they are separate products from the same owner. Pick the route that matches how much of the competition you actually want.

New Fubo customers can start a free trial, watch live, and cancel any time within the trial window if it turns out not to fit. One caveat worth checking at sign-up: local CBS availability depends on your market, so run your ZIP code through Fubo’s channel look-up before you commit.

For Spanish-language coverage, TelevisaUnivision holds the primary US rights through the end of this season, with matches spread across Univision, UniMás, TUDN and the ViX streaming service, and part of the streaming package sublicensed to DAZN. From 2027-28 those rights move to Telemundo. Which of the Spanish-language channels sits in your particular live-TV plan varies, so check the current line-up rather than assuming.

Champions League 2026-27 schedule and US kickoff times

The league phase runs eight matchdays between September and late January. Every fixture kicks off in Europe at either 18:45 or 21:00 CET, which converts to two fixed US windows — and here is the useful part: because Europe and the US change their clocks within a week of each other in late autumn, and no matchday falls inside that gap, the American clock times stay identical all season long.

Round Dates US kickoff windows
Matchday 1 8–10 September 2026 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 2 13–14 October 2026 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 3 20–21 October 2026 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 4 3–4 November 2026 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 5 24–25 November 2026 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 6 8–9 December 2026 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 7 19–20 January 2027 12:45 PM ET / 3:00 PM ET
Matchday 8 27 January 2027 3:00 PM ET (all fixtures)

Translated across the country, the early window is 12:45 PM ET / 11:45 AM CT / 9:45 AM PT and the late one is 3:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM CT / 12:00 PM PT. Matchday 1 is spread across three days — Tuesday to Thursday — while later matchdays are normally Tuesday and Wednesday. Matchday 8 is the outlier: all 18 fixtures land on the same January afternoon, so the final league-phase standings resolve at once.

Devices, DVR and streaming without cable

Both routes are internet-only, which is the whole point for anyone who cancelled cable years ago. Fubo runs on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, smart TVs, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and in a desktop browser, so the same login covers a laptop at work and the TV at home.

Timing is the real problem with European football in America, and this is where unlimited Cloud DVR matters more than any channel count. A 12:45 PM ET kickoff on a Tuesday is unwatchable live for most people with a job. Record it, avoid the score, and play the full 90 minutes back that evening — and because the storage is not capped, you can bank an entire matchday and work through it. If you have been trying to figure out how to watch Champions League football in the US without a cable package, that combination of a live stream, a real US tv channel bundle and a recording that waits for you is the practical answer. Worth knowing too: the final airs on over-the-air CBS, so an antenna covers that one game for nothing.

Knockout rounds and the 2027 final in Madrid

The top eight in the league phase go straight to the round of 16. Teams finishing ninth to 24th drop into a two-legged knockout phase play-off first. The calendar after January looks like this: play-offs on 16/17 and 23/24 February 2027, round of 16 on 9/10 and 16/17 March, quarter-finals on 6/7 and 13/14 April, semi-finals on 27/28 April and 4/5 May.

The season ends at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid on Saturday 5 June 2027. It is the second final at Atlético’s ground, after Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 there in 2019, and Madrid’s sixth final overall — only London has hosted more. The kickoff time has not been confirmed, but recent finals have started at 21:00 in Europe, which would put it in the mid-afternoon Eastern window.
