Chalobah Set for England Call-Up
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to join the England squad as a replacement for the injured Marc Guehi. The Chelsea defender is anticipated to link up with the team for their final World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, though an official announcement is still pending.
The Three Lions have already secured their spot for next summer’s tournament. Chalobah earned his first call-up under manager Thomas Tuchel in May and made his debut against Senegal.
Tuchel’s Influence on Chalobah’s Career
In September, Tuchel mentioned that Chalobah was unfortunate to miss out on the qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and he was also left out during the October international break. Tuchel has been instrumental in Chalobah’s career, giving him his Chelsea debut in 2021.
This season, Chalobah has been a regular for Chelsea, featuring in all but four matches. The club currently sits third in the Premier League, is in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, and has advanced to the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi’s Injury and Other Squad Changes
Guehi suffered a foot injury during Crystal Palace’s Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar last week. Additionally, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has indicated that winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion) will withdraw from the squad.
