Cambuur vs PSV Prediction: 08.11.2026 Eredivisie

Ninth hosts third at Kooi Stadion, and the form book reads like a typo. Cambuur have gone eight matches without defeat, five wins and three draws, right after a seven-match losing skid that had everyone writing them off. PSV sit two points off top spot with the division’s best attack, 35 goals in 11 games, yet they arrive off a 1-2 home defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League and with three losses from their last seven in all competitions. The hot stat: 15 goals scored by Cambuur across their last five matches, only three conceded. Something cracks somewhere on Sunday evening…

Two men shape the tempo. Nicolas Binder has four goals in five for the hosts, and Rafik El Arguioui supplies the ammunition with 16 attempts in four appearances. For PSV, Guus Til is the finisher in form at three in five while the wide forwards misfire around him.

Cambuur vs PSV prediction

Our best value play is PSV to win with both teams scoring. The straight away win at 1.37 carries an implied 73%, and the consensus bookmaker model gives Bosz’s men only 69%, so the market has already chewed through the value on the headline price. The goals angle hasn’t. Cambuur have scored in each of their last five, 15 in total, and PSV have conceded in three of their last five, twice in each defeat. Bundle the away win with goals at both ends and you capture every trend this fixture throws up. We think it lands.

Style tells the rest of the story. PSV average 559 passes per game at 85% accuracy; Cambuur 395 at 79%, so expect the visitors to hold well over half the ball and the hosts to live on transitions and set pieces. Cambuur commit 12 fouls a match to PSV’s nine and take twice the bookings, 10 yellow cards to 6, with Mathieu Maertens alone responsible for 11 fouls in four appearances. That physical edge wins the ball back in dangerous areas but hands Perišić and Kostić free-kick deliveries into the box. Corner counts run 5.2 per game for the hosts and 6.0 for PSV, which puts the combined line right around eleven.

Team Analysis

Cambuur’s revival under Johan Plat deserves respect, schedule caveats included. The unbeaten stretch holds a 2-2 draw with AZ Alkmaar, a 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle, a 6-1 demolition of bottom-side Willem II and a 2-0 cup win over amateurs Kloetinge. Last time out came the statement: 4-0 over GA Eagles, who sit tenth and are no pushover. Three goals conceded in five matches, and the scoring has been shared, Binder, Ilyes Hamache, Jason Ceka and El Arguioui all chipping in rather than one man carrying it. Kooi Stadion is compact and loud, and referees tend to book the side that fouls more. On every number we have, that’s Cambuur.

PSV’s fortnight is their whole season in miniature. A 1-0 grind past Porto in Europe, a 1-1 draw with Feyenoord, then a 7-0 thrashing of Willem II with Til and Sven Mijnans running everything. The crash followed: beaten 1-2 at home by Club Brugge on Tuesday. In our preview of PSV vs Club Brugge we tipped the Belgians to take something from Eindhoven and fancied them for the full haul, and the 1-2 scoreline delivered it. Add the 1-2 loss at ADO Den Haag and a pattern emerges. When opponents attack PSV directly, the defense wobbles. When they sit deep, PSV score in bunches. Cambuur will not sit deep.

Pre-game odds and win probability: PSV the favourite

  • Moneyline Cambuur 6.33 | PSV 1.37
  • Draw 5.58

Those are averages across six books, with bons an outlier at 1.15 on the away side and no draw price. The numbers imply roughly 16% for Cambuur, 18% for the draw and 73% for PSV, against the consensus model of 15-16-69. Read that twice: the market rates PSV shorter than the probabilities justify, which kills the value on a straight away win. Goals and BTTS markets weren’t priced in our feed at the time of writing, hence their absence from the list, so our angles there live in the hot tip table above.

Possible Starting Lineups

Cambuur possible starting eleven

  • GK: Thijs Jansen
  • DF: Jorn Berkhout, Rik Mulders, Ismaël Baouf, Lucas Jetten
  • MF: Ethan Apkakou, Iwan Henstra, Rafik El Arguioui, Ilyes Hamache, Jason Ceka
  • FW: Nicolas Binder

Jansen keeps the gloves on the back of 10 saves across four starts; Luca Plogmann’s single 90-minute outing doesn’t move the needle. Baouf is the defender to watch, 11 interceptions and 231 completed passes in five games, the man who walks the ball out of trouble. The 4-2-3-1 hands Henstra and Apkakou the double pivot, El Arguioui the ten, Hamache and Ceka the wide channels. Binder leads the line with four goals in five and is the danger man on every set piece.

PSV possible starting eleven

  • GK: Matěj Kovář
  • DF: Sergiño Dest, Lutsharel Geertruida, Armando Obispo, Mauro Júnior
  • MF: Kodai Sano, Guus Til, Sven Mijnans, Esmir Bajraktarević, Ivan Perišić
  • FW: Ricardo Pepi

Kovář has played every minute and made 12 saves, untouchable. Geertruida’s 341 completed passes lead the roster and he sets the tempo from deep. The same 4-2-3-1 pairs Sano and Mijnans at the base with Til as the ten, three goals in five, and Bajraktarević plus Perišić hugging the touchlines. Pepi gets the striker spot over Mikkel Bro Hansen on pure output, a goal and an assist in 51 minutes of action, while Bro Hansen has five appearances without scoring. Mijnans picked up a red card recently, worth a thought for the disciplinary angle.

The Verdict

PSV to win 2-1, and we say it with conviction. Cambuur’s eight-match run is real, but it was built against PEC Zwolle, Willem II, Kloetinge and GA Eagles; AZ is the only side in that stretch anywhere near this level. PSV’s ceiling, that 7-0 against Willem II, shows what happens when a game opens up, and both of their recent defeats finished 1-2 with the attack finding the net and the defense leaking twice. Cambuur will score, maybe off a corner or a Binder run in behind, but the quality gap over 90 minutes decides it. Til anytime scorer is the side bet we like, and over 10.5 corners rounds out the card. Honestly, if Cambuur were priced nearer 9.00 we’d shout louder; at 6.33 there’s a sliver of value for the brave, we just think PSV’s big-game quality shows up when the league schedule gives them a full week to reset.
