Aston Villa vs Manchester City Prediction
At Villa Park, Aston Villa, who have found excellent form after a dreadful start to the season, host the Premier League leaders, winners of every league match so far.
Aston Villa arrive on a seven-match unbeaten run across all competitions. The Villans are gradually rebuilding belief on the back of a string of good results. In the last match against Viking, Unai Emery was able to rotate a little, saving his key men for this demanding meeting with the Citizens.
Despite the mass of rumours promising Manchester City a difficult future over their numerous charges, and the assumptions of a poor season following the departure of the legendary Pep Guardiola, the team keeps answering with results on the pitch. In 12 matches since the start of the season, the Blues have lost only twice — to Arsenal (0:3) in the Community Shield and to PSG (2:4) in the Champions League. Every other fixture has ended in victory.

At the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, the standout Serie A fixture of the round brings together Napoli, still searching for their game under a new coach, and Roma, who remain one of only three teams still unbeaten in the league.
Napoli have been extremely inconsistent under Massimiliano Allegri — four wins, one draw and five defeats since the start of the season across all competitions. Such numbers only fuel the talk of a possible change of manager in Naples. The latest game once again exposed the Partenopei’s problems, as they needed the individual quality of a few performers to see off a stubborn Bodø/Glimt (4:2).
In contrast, Gian Piero Gasperini‘s Roma are on the rise — just one defeat, in the goal feast against Real Madrid (3:4), set against six wins and three draws. In his second season in charge, this looks like an entirely different team from the one supporters watched last year.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Prediction
The trip to Everton (2:0) turned out unexpectedly easy and convincing for the Blues. Xabi Alonso‘s side spent a long time looking for their chance at the other end, but really fired after the break: within the first 44 seconds of the second half, Pedro Neto punished a positional error from the defence to open the scoring. Late on, the same Neto completed his brace, pouncing on a rebound off the wall from a free kick and picking out the corner. The Londoners applied constant pressure on the opposition goal, although the game was overshadowed by a serious injury to goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who was carried off on a stretcher.
Tottenham, meanwhile, ended their winless run by edging a tense home meeting with Coventry (3:1). Roberto De Zerbi‘s team controlled proceedings for most of the match (65% possession, 16 shots), and James Maddison got the scoring under way with a spectacular long-range effort into the top corner. Despite a quick reply early in the second half, Omar Marmoush put the hosts back in front with a strike from the edge of the box after a pass from Robertson, and in added time Ben Davies settled matters with an outside-of-the-boot finish. That long-awaited triumph lifted Spurs to 16th in the table with 6 points.
Although Tottenham won their last match, that result was based more on fortunate and genuinely impressive long-range strikes than on reliable build-up play with a logical finish. I consider Chelsea big favourites in this London derby and I am backing them to win.

Manchester United vs Bournemouth Prediction
At Old Trafford, the long-suffering Manchester United host Bournemouth, who by contrast are slowly finding their game, having won three matches in a row.
With every new Manchester United fixture, the same question arises: can the Mancunians sink any lower? The defeat to Como (1:4) was a vivid summary of a prolonged crisis running since mid-September. The Red Devils have gone seven matches without a win: four of them defeats, the rest draws. Some players cannot withstand the fierce pressure on the club and allow themselves inappropriate comments about the team, which certainly does not help the unity of Michael Carrick‘s squad.
Bournemouth under Marco Rose, on the other hand, are a pleasant surprise: five wins, three draws and three defeats since the start of the season in all competitions. What is more, the last three victories were clean sheets (two of them, admittedly, in the Europa League). The Cherries are not afraid to play their football against strong opponents and at the very least earn respect for it. Narrow defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool, plus a heavy one to Chelsea, can still be excused, but losing to this version of Manchester United would be very hard to explain.
“The Mancunians disappoint their supporters more with every match. This long run will break at some point, but I do not think it happens in this game. Even so, the hosts should work their way to a goal of their own. I believe the visitors will avoid defeat and that both teams will score.”

Hoffenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction
Hoffenheim come into this one after a triumphant 3:0 demolition of French side Lyon in the third round of the Europa League. On their own PreZero Arena turf, Christian Ilzer‘s men were aggressive, imposing a high tempo and pressing on their opponents. The game was decided by Andrej Kramaric‘s goal on the stroke of half-time after a successful header on the rebound, a quick strike from Adam Daghim immediately after the break, and the final blow from Adam Hlozek on 83 minutes. Despite that assured European win, things are tougher in the Bundesliga: the club currently sit 14th with 6 points, although in the previous league round they did grind out a 2:1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
Bayer Leverkusen, meanwhile, continue to show rock-solid consistency, claiming another clean-sheet European victory against Greek side OFI Crete (2:0). The hero of the away game was Jonas Hofmann, who struck twice within 3 minutes. The Pharmacists completely controlled events and fired as many as 33 shots at the opposition goal. They are in good shape domestically too: unbeaten for 5 rounds, Leverkusen are established in 4th place with 13 points.
Bayer look like favourites thanks to their powerful attacking potential and reliable structure, but Hoffenheim are capable of springing plenty of surprises at home. I expect a high-scoring meeting in which we see at least 3 goals.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid Predictions
Barcelona lost away to PSG in the Champions League by 2:4. Although the Catalans statistically held slightly more of the ball (53%), that defeat can be called entirely deserved: the Blaugrana defence was bursting at the seams under the Parisians’ pressure (22 shots, 14 of them on target). Hansi Flick‘s side were saved from a total rout only by goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who made 10 saves, including one one-on-one stopped with his face. Besides a first defeat of the season, the Catalans lost Dani Olmo to injury, yet in La Liga they remain outright leaders with 9 wins from 9 and 27 points.
Real Madrid, by contrast, approach this Clasico in good spirits after a convincing 4:1 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Los Blancos were fully in command at the Santiago Bernabeu: late in the first half Bernardo Silva opened the scoring with his first goal in the Madrid shirt, after the break Arda Guler doubled the lead, and towards the end Kylian Mbappe and Yan Diomande turned it into a rout. Diomande deserves a special mention: since the international break, Yan has contributed goals or assists in every match he has played. With his switch to the left flank and Vinicius‘s scoring crisis, the Brazilian is seriously at risk of losing his starting place. That is not the priority before the Clasico, however, since Vinicius will be unavailable as he serves a suspension for a red card. In the Spanish championship, Real sit 3rd with 21 points, six behind the Catalans, which makes this away trip even more significant in the title race.
Of course, the almost flawless start to the season by Hansi Flick’s men makes Barcelona favourites for this match. It also helps them that Madrid’s style over the last few seasons fits perfectly into the way Barca are built. In my opinion, though, the line on an away win is clearly inflated. Madrid have a squad in which every player can decide a match on his own. In this game I want to back Real at least to avoid defeat.
