The Conference League league phase opens on 15 October, and the first round throws domestic champions, qualifying survivors and seasoned European names together before there is any table to read. Six predictions follow, three of them built on goal lines, two on corner counts and one on a favourite winning a scoring game, with prices running from 1.70 at the short end to 2.98 at the long one — the odds converter will turn those figures into fractional or American format if you prefer. TipsGG publishes free football predictions with pre-match odds for the Conference League, and these football betting tips carry three named signatures: Oleksii Svyrydov, TipsGG Sports & Esports Expert, alongside sports data managers Oleksandr Halian and Oleksandr Vaskov. Opening matchdays reward teams that play to their strengths rather than their caution, and most of the reasoning below leans on exactly that.

Lugano vs Crvena Zvezda Prediction
Swiss side Lugano arrive at matchday one of the Conference League in phenomenal form and as the undisputed leaders of their national championship. In their last Super League outing the black-and-whites swept aside Lucerne (4:0), showing serious intent in front of goal with 19 shots and 2.56 xG. Daniel Dos Santos was the hero of the night with a brace. Leaving friendlies aside, Lugano’s most recent defeat dates all the way back to 10 May 2026, in matchday 36 of the Super League against St. Gallen (1:2).
Crvena Zvezda travel to Switzerland with a similar status as a domestic dominator. In the last round of the Serbian top flight the Belgrade club won away at Radnicki 1923 (3:0). Albert Riera‘s men sit comfortably top of the Serbian SuperLiga on 31 points from 11 matches, still unbeaten and with an outstanding goal record of 27:3. Squad depth and the quality of their performers let the red-and-whites feel confident even on the road.
In my view this meeting should produce goals. First of all, the opening round of the league phase is always a place for experiments, where teams try to play freely and from their own strengths. Attack is the driving force for both sides, so I expect at least three goals.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals — odds 1.70
KF Egnatia vs Midtjylland Betting Tips
At the Arena Kombetare, in matchday one of the Conference League, the reigning Albanian champions host Midtjylland, who impressed in last season’s Europa League by reaching the round of 16, where they went out only on penalties to Nottingham Forest.
In seven home matches this season Egnatia have won five and drawn two. Notably, during Europa League and Champions League qualifying their own ground was where the green side took the fight to every opponent, losing none of those games.
Midtjylland come to Albania on a 14-match unbeaten run (10 wins and 4 draws). Their only two setbacks of the campaign came back in Europa League qualifying against Besiktas. Despite a long injury list, the Wolves remain a formidable force.
I expect a spectacular, open game with chances at both ends. I will refrain from predicting the final result and suggest looking instead at the number of corners in the match, a high count being characteristic of both teams.
Prediction: Over 9.5 match corners — 2.08
FK Riga vs Kairat Almaty Odds & Pick
At the Skonto Stadium in Riga, European main-stage debutants FK Riga host the stubborn Kairat.
Both teams began their journey in Champions League qualifying, yet had to settle for the Conference League in the end. For clubs of this size even that outcome is an unqualified success. Both are also only second in their domestic leagues after last season’s titles in Latvia and Kazakhstan, trailing the leaders by one and four points respectively.
Riga became the third Latvian club in history to reach the main stage of European competition. The Riga side approach their continental debut in excellent shape — six official matches without defeat, while at home their unbeaten run stretches back to November 2025.
Kairat, predictably, have lowered their sights after last season’s Champions League campaign. The Almaty club lost three of their four away matches in qualifying, and in three of those four road games they failed to score at all.
I expect a tense match in which Kairat sit deep from the first minute and try to catch Riga on the counter. The hosts, inspired by their home crowd, will push forward and may well edge the contest by a narrow margin. Still, the main marker I would choose is the hosts’ corners, as they out-performed their opponents in that category in every single European qualifying match.
Prediction: FK Riga to win the corner count — 1.70
Alternative prediction: FK Riga to win — 1.93
CSKA Sofia vs Monaco Preview
CSKA Sofia had a very successful Europa League qualifying run, coming through three rounds. Unfortunately they had no answers against Greek side OFI, so the club dropped into the Conference League. And in the very first round their opponents are Monaco — the most prestigious home match of this autumn. There is no doubt every player will give everything. CSKA, incidentally, are now led by German coach Markus Gisdol, who already has a first league win to his name, over CSKA 1948.
It is slightly awkward for Monaco to prepare, because the Bulgarian side’s approach is certain to change. However, the level of the French team’s players is high enough to take the field and dominate even in an experimental line-up. Monaco have not lost a match this season and have almost always scored at least twice.
Even if there are costly defensive errors in Bulgaria, the attack will more than make up for them. Conclusion: a win for the favourite in a high-scoring game.
Prediction: Both teams to score & Monaco win at odds of 2.98
Atalanta vs Pafos Match Tips
Atalanta pleased their supporters by beating Venezia in their last match. It cannot be said that everything went smoothly, though, as the opponents created plenty of chances, and alongside their issues on the ball Maurizio Sarri‘s team have personnel problems in defence. Giorgio Scalvini was the latest to pick up an injury. The game with Pafos matters for extending the winning run, but Sarri will also be looking ahead to the away trip to Milan, so significant rotation is coming. Where will that lead?
Pafos gained experience in the Champions League league phase last season, collecting eight points, and will now try to apply it in the Conference League, where the opposition looks manageable by status. Their problems deserve attention, though. Only in their most recent match, against Anorthosis, did the team look good going forward; before that, goals this autumn were literally a struggle.
The situation seems to suit Atalanta, who are not in perfect form and are not playing perfect football, but who are capable of overcoming the Cypriots.
Prediction: Atalanta to win & under 4.5 goals at odds of 1.79
Copenhagen vs Braga Prediction
Copenhagen suffered an away defeat to Midtjylland (1:2) in the Danish league. Despite a marginal advantage in play, the Lions were always chasing the game, which decided the final result. Even so, the white-and-blues still lead the Danish championship with 24 points after 10 rounds, holding a two-point cushion over that same Midtjylland.
Braga also lost in their domestic league, going down at home to Sporting (1:3). The Arsenalistas tried to be proactive and were far sharper on the ball, but their opponents showed real finishing class, squeezing the maximum out of just three shots on Bernardo‘s goal. Curiously, the match featured two own goals. In the Primeira Liga table Braga currently sit ninth with 11 points and a goal difference of zero.
I do not expect a goal feast in this match. Judging by Braga’s recent displays, Carlos Vicens‘ side find scoring extremely difficult. Copenhagen, meanwhile, are considered slight favourites by the bookmakers but had two days fewer to recover, and lost an exhausting away trip to a direct title rival, so I believe the hosts will not throw everything forward and will play pragmatically instead.
Prediction: Under 2.5 goals — odds 1.72
Across the six selections the prices stretch from 1.70 on the Lugano goal line and the Riga corner market up to 2.98 on the combination in Sofia, with the remaining picks clustered between 1.72 and 2.08. Anyone combining several of them, or staking a bonus on one, can work out potential returns with our free bet calculator before matchday one kicks off.
