Aberdeen Close to Naming New Manager
Aberdeen are in the final stages of their search for a new manager, with interviews already conducted and a decision expected soon. The Scottish Premiership club is moving swiftly to replace Jimmy Thelin, who was dismissed at the beginning of January.
The shortlist includes candidates from both the UK and abroad, as the Dons aim to secure a leader capable of steering the team forward. While the process nears completion, interim boss Peter Leven is set to remain in charge for Saturday’s league clash against Livingston.
Leven, the first-team coach, has overseen Aberdeen’s last three matches, including a crucial 1-0 victory over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup. His steady hand has provided stability, but the club is eager to finalize a permanent appointment.
The new manager will inherit a squad with potential, though results have been inconsistent this season. Aberdeen currently sit mid-table in the Scottish Premiership, leaving room for improvement under fresh leadership.
