Natus Vincere vs Fnatic
In the ESL Pro League Season 16, two big brands will face each other on a Lan match. The Ukrainian Natus Vincere and the British organization Fnatic, with players of diverse nationalities. The match will be played on 01.09.2022 at 16:00 CEST time in the BO3 format.
This Ukrainian team needs no introduction, currently ranked as #1, and the best team on hltv is dominating everything. Their star player, well-known Oleksandr "S1mple" Kostyliev, with a 1.28 rating and 0.84 kills per round, is a player on which NaVi can rely. S1mple with multiple achievements and multiply top 1 hltv, have no real opponents. Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev (formerly known as somedieyoung) replaced Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhaylov after the Ukrainian organization benched him, however, Viktor does not stand out from the rest of the team, he is a great replacement. After benching Kirill, Natus Vincere needed a new in-game leader. Denis "electroNic" Sharipov took this role, he said that he always wanted to try being IGL, and it was the perfect decision for them. NaVi, since then, won almost everything. Denis has not worsened, he led his team to many victories while keeping as high as a 1.17 hltv rating. Navi will enter this match with a lot of self-confidence, we can expect from them a nice show, almost as always.
British organization with a huge history, currently ranked as a #27 on hltv. As I said in my previous prediction, once a team legend, nowadays fighting in tier 2. Recent changes are looking good for them, after five wins in a row they did not stop. After defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas they added another victory to their streak. Fredrik 'roeJ' Jørgensen with awesome K-D ratio (42-18) led Fnatic to the win. Their new player Dion 'FASHR' Derksen is not disappointing. So far Fnatic is finally starting to look like a solid team. We can expect them to comeback to tier 1 CS, however, I don't think that they are ready for the top 5 teams. They can surprise us but there is a small chance that it will happen while playing versus Natus Vincere.
Fnatic map pool is poor, their best map is Nuke where Natus Vincere feels very good. It seems like Ancient is a chance for Fnatic to take at least one map. NaVi can pick almost every map, they have no weaknesses besides Ancient and Vertigo, however, we surely won't see Dust 2 and Vertigo. Bookmakers are favoring Natus Vincere with odds averaging around 1.25, my gut feelings are the same. From my point of view a Ukrainian organization, Natus Vincere should take it with a quick and easy 2:0, nonetheless, I wouldn't be surprised if Fnatic will take one map. NaVi winning should be a secure bet but 2:0 is a bit risky.
