Valve reported the cancellation of the first Major tournament of the season in Dota 2. According to the company, the reason for the cancellation was the COVID-19 pandemic situation and the spread of new strains of the disease, in particular Omicron.
Valve explained that travel restrictions from different countries also prompted the company to opt for cancellation.
No alternatives were offered by Valve to cancel the main tournament of the season. However, the developers of Dota 2 said that they will change the distribution of points for the second and third Major tournaments in the DPC.

- 4th place – 460 points
- 5/6 place – 385 points
- 7/8th place – 240 points
Third Major
- 1 place – 820 points
- 2nd place – 740 points
- 3 place – 670 points
- 4th place – 590 points
- 5/6 place – 515 points
- 7/8 place – 360 points
